Flight Training
How Do I Earn my Pilot’s License?
The process starts with a tour of our school, up close look at the aircraft fleet and an introductory Discovery Flight:
You have the choice between one of our popular Cessna 172’s, and our instructors will have you sit in the pilots seat and fly! Expect a few minutes of ground instruction pre-flight, 30 minutes of flight time, and a debrief back in the classroom.
After Discovery flight, we ask if you want to commit to on-going training, then hold an introductory meeting.
Together we fill out an action plan to establish goals, forcast potential obstacles you may encounter, and build a timeline to help achieve your mission!
Special note for youth ages 8-17, you can access Sporty’s Learn to Fly course FREE through EAA Young Eagles until age 19!
Now its time to start flight training with your instructor learning required maneuvers and logging hours!
The FAA requirement to earn a private pilot license is:

A Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) is a pilot who has earned the qualification to teach others how to fly, providing both ground and flight instruction toward various pilot certificates and ratings. A Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII) holds an additional endorsement that allows them to teach pilots how to fly using instruments alone, a skill essential for operating safely in low-visibility conditions. After completion of requirements, there is an oral and flight checkride with examiner to demonstrate proficiency.
